I phoned Humber yesterday and gave them the Hull ID number of the boat I bought last week, and it turns out it was one of the boats used in OPS Rigid Lion.
In late 2002 2 ribs took 2 crews of young squaddies round Britain to raise awareness and funds for St Dunstons charity, who take blind service personell out on the water.
It was finished off by a run around the Isle of Wight coxed by a completely blind ex squaddie.

Looking at the article, it seems some of the shots are staged with different boats as the A frames on the boat on the Thames, or with the guys wearing red shirts are not the same as the shots of the guys wearing DPM. The boats that were actually used are the ones with the guys wearing Gekkos/DPM, and that is one of the ones I have managed to buy.
Anyway I was over the moon to know I had managed to get one of these, and cant wait to get it out onto the water.
The one I got apparently was given to St Dunstons, and then sold on a few years ago.
The question is does anyone know where the other one went? or who owns it?
It would be interesting to see if I could re unite the boats at some point!
PM or post if you have any clues.
