Orkney - Things to do / Accomodation

Looks like I'm off to Orkney shortly for work. I'll be stuck there for a while and may have some 'weather days'. I need to decided whether or not its worth shipping the car across and also find somewhere to stay and things to do. Ideally need to stay in Stromness if anyone knows anything there?

Wondering if its worth taking fishing rods / mountain bike etc?

Any advice would be great!

Call yerself a diver & you're asking what there is to do in Orkney. Scapa flow, German fleet, ring any bellsTry the Ferry Inn on Stromness pier for digs , good food & real ale. The museum at Lyness is a must see

Cheers Pikey Dave, will have a look. I've worked there before but on a different contract. Definitely going to drive up there so that opens up more options.

I remember the black ale from before and a massive climb up the side of the jetty we were inspecting.
