Osprey Rib?

Looked at this last week, guy says it's an Osprey it has a hard nose yes but it doesn't look like any Osprey I've seen. The bow locker is a different shape. Also the transom has 2 knees but also as can been seen in the picture (with the engine) a large moulding which goes from under the rear of the jockey seating upwards to the transom.

Anyone any idea what it is?

No that's what I thought.

The bow locker is different and the stern is much beefier the solid bit from below the seat goes in to the well and on to the hull looks very strong. The motor is a 140hp.

Any idea what it is?

No plate nothing new about that!

It was a while ago, but did you find out what this was? I have just picked one up cheap that is definitely the same hull, but don't know what it is!

Seen one advertised guy claimed it was a BWM he knew the guy who built it!
The one I looked at seemed well built with no stress cracks around the transom. The hard bow locker door bit was rather weak looking.

Would have bought it but Searider 4.7 came along at the right/wrong time

You may have just made my day! I know of BWM ribs, but didn't know they did a hard nose. I just came across this advert...

http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/1998...m#.VAjEFEi5OLo

and if that is a BWM, then so is mine... same hull shape, tube shape, nose cone and locker shape!!! Cheers :-)

Hi Guys, I just stumbled onto this post... I now own this rib and till now also thought it was an Osprey!
Ill be digging more to see if I can get more info.
I bought it last year and has been fixing her up, still have the 140hp Tohatsu 2 stroke outboard, been painting and modifying the console a bit to accept a plotter and radio...

Have a great day...
Kind regards Cornelius

Yes, it is a BWM - as we were trying to pioneer slip-on tubes at the time(around 1994) but couldn't stop the bow from leaking water so this compromise was produced...I think we made about 4 of these all slightly different.
Hope this helps?

Just to lower the quality of this thread....
I'd be concerned if I was to buy a rib with
the most important thing on the console being a fire extingusher
