The company behind the new boat is Coupland Bell. I presume they either own the rights to the design or are paying some sort of royalty to use it.

Arr, yes well, you see there was this court case and neither Osprey or Vector exactly came out of it smelling of roses although the result was rather tight lipped. Cookee may know more but rumour suggested a fee of £60k.

Anyway the XR 24 was replaced by the Lynx, slightly longer and modified nose shape.

Interesting that the photos of the XR 24 on the website are of the XR24 that Puffin Divers used to own in Oban. Hope they didn't splash it. Why haven't they built one I wonder rather than just buy a second hand one.

If they had had asked we could have given them much more of the boats history than they have published.

The original XR24 may be available for the right fee.

Pete

Pete, wasn't it an XR24 I was thinking about buying just before I bought the 5.4? The one with half a jetski as a console?

Looking at those pics I'm regretting not buying it now though if memory serves me right it was underpowered and had some very dubious 'features' that would have broken the wallet removing them.

Had a reply from Mark this evening. They have bought the original moulds and the rights etc. They have built a new mould for the hull and with the mould for the deck should be in business shortly.

Launching a new rib in the current resession is brave, wish them luck.

Hopefully they will post photos of the first build and then show it at one of the boat shows next year.

DAnny, they say they haven't received your e mail ?
Pete

codprawn speedily shifted an old force out of my garage away to its new owner, new owner paid money into my account, codprawn even rang to arrange collection, seems to be a very efficient and cost effective business he has going down there,
