outboard/inboard

Just been offered a humber 7.5 metre with an outboard on it but would rather run a diesel inboard maybe on a jet drive. Is it possible to swap over from outboard to inboard or are the hull designs different?
Any comments appreciated. Cheers

It'll be an expensive exercise, but entirely doable with a sterndrive. Might be an interesting project with a jet though .

I had the idea of marinising a new gen diesel VW lump and using that via a jet drive into a 5.4 Searider a while back so asked the question. The pics on this thread convinced me not to do it as I'd have to make some fairly major mods to the hull:-

sounds like a candidate for JetPac. http://www.fleetwatermarine.com/JetP...ion_system.htm

Anyone got any pricing on Jetpac? Seems like its runs of the odl tried and true 5.7 vortec block so I'd hope it'd be reasonably priced... bets its not though haha!
