Overall/Winter cover for Thundercat? (Ceasar w/ Tohatsu 50)

Hi folks,
When I bought my Ceasar Thundercat I bought an overall/winter cover. It was an excellent fit and looked lovely, but just not up to the challenge of our harsh winters and long distance driving etc. and all the threading etc. has come apart. It would not be economical to repair it as it only cost me £70. Rather than buy the same thing again and for it to possibly shred into bits again, I was wondering if anyone here knows of any Thundercat covers that are made of good quality material, like you'd see on most RIB's

I still have the cover so could send a template to someone if needs be, but thought i'd ask here first incase anyone knows of anything.

Cheers folks

Hi ALT,

We just use a normal cheap garden tarp and take it off when towing.

Bungie cords take the bite out of the wind when it gets hairy giving a bit of longevity

By the way why don't you take the old tarp to a sailmaker and see if he can knock you up a new cover out of something Gucci and mega durable??

It might be worth speaking to Jonny at BoatcoversIreland.ie. You may have already heard of him on powerboat.ie. He used to be the principal canvas designer at Irish Spars and Rigging before setting up on his own last year. He has made covers for inflatables/ribs/pwc craft and he makes all and any of my covers as required. Uses the best of materials. Top bloke and very reliable. He works constantly over near your neck of the woods doing stuff on the inland waterways. His number is 0876 542398.

Thanks for the info, will give him a call.

I need a cover that I can leave on while travelling as I store things under cover when under-way on the road

He made a travelling cover for a diving company in Cork recently when I sold them my Avon CRRC 520, so he knows about the problems of windage, etc.
