Pacific 22 Qs

OK, off we go with a few tech questions as I believe Nev is away on Holiday.
1. Anyone code a standed Pac 22(with original consul) if so, where the blooming hell didyou hide the other bank of batteries.
2. The engine is fitted with the deadmans flap etc, but nothing on consul as not orig.eng.Have follwed solenoid wires into consul, but need to find its relay in the snakes wedding of wires any ideas where it may be hidden(wiring pic doesnt say where)
3.Where can i cut to put hatch in fwd deck as i can only feel one bearer.
Thanks in advance.
I dare say more to follow later.
Paul

Did it have a relay or did the wires go straight to the switch, mine didn't have one so the dash switch isn't connected.

assuming your deck is still the original or copy of original then the deck cross beams are on the seams. If I get down to her tomorrow I will meaure the distances from the front of the console but in the attached photo you can see the edge of the deck sits on the first cross beam under the front of the console. the outline of the console is also visible. I think the distance to the next one is 1100mm. My hatch sits about 6" in front of the original console.

the relay is in the ali box under the helm seat the one with the fuses in the cover, remove the cover and the relay should be behind.

Is that the one with the 2 fuses on the front or the one with ign key and row of pop out breakers.
Cheers

Paul, distance from the cross beam under the console to the next forward one is 4 feet. However there is piece of wood about were the front of the console finishes also going across on mine, so so long as you are a couple of inches in front of the console you will be fine. Edges of the marine ply as expected sit on the cross beams.

Pac 22

Cheers Pete, will get cutting as soon as hatch arrives.
Hopeing to put boat in water for a spin next weekend, as at present have no way of stopping engine from outside of engine box as pull stop is not fitted, will do this week. Then after that get painting and get rid of that battleship grey.

Richard,
Hoping to put it in the water on sunday as need to adjust trailer, just for a quick spin. Thats if I can get the mechanical stop cable etc fitted on Saturday, or it may be a bit of string. Dont think A Frame will be on by then though.

Excellent, let us know how you get on with the engine stop. Been fiddling with one of those bonnet release cables for a while now, but it doesn't close properly so ended up with a piece of bungy cord as a spring. Complete lash up which needs sorting. Mermaid do a stop soleniod for the fuel injection pump which I am considering fitting and then having this connected to a merc stop switch which would solve the normal and emergency engine stop in one go.

Stop cable

Pete,
I put in a stop cable that i got from m Dowland and routed through one of the conduet tubes to the moulded corner of seat consul (opersite corner to fuel filler cap) ive got the kill switch there as well. Got a return spring on fuel pump stop lever.
