Parker 1000 Baltic New Build

I guess it's time to start a thread on this...put a deposit on a Parker 1000 Baltic seafari setup with bracket!

Boat will have a T-Top, extended sun deck, 12 jockey seats in front, custom bench in the stern with space underneath for coolers and storage boxes.

Here's what we're thinking for colours - what do you think?

Tubes - Red (Stromboli/Etna?)
Exterior Hull - Red (match tubes)
Interior Hull/Console/Bases/Etc - Light Grey
Upholostery - Grey
T-Top Canvas - Red (match tubes)
Rubbing Strake/Non Skid - Black (double patches at boarding by t-top, single patches in bow)
Additional Hypalon Seating Patches on tubes - Grey (match seats)

Keep in mind this will be used in the Bahamas on an almost daily basis, so we need to be able to keep it cool (hence the interior grey and seating patches).

Power will be twin Mercury Verado 350s, with dual 220l and 120l tanks.

Thoughts and input appreciated!

I've always found red is susceptible to premature fading, you'll love the verado's, really punchy, just a touch of the throttles and she'll surge forward with the superchargers howling behind you . I'm running a 550 litre fuel tank, I appreciate your planning more capacity, you can't have too much, when your pushing on it dos'nt last long! Lol

I'm with Chris - off white, light grey, no black rubber (it streaks). White GRP too - try filling coloured GRP that's had a couple of season's sun.

Sounds like a VERY nice boat - whatever colour it is.

I swear I already wrote this all out and submitted it...but here goes again!

This is for a tour / excursion operation - so we want to stand right out! That's the reason for the red. Lots of boats in the harbour in white and light grey, not many ribs around here either.

We currently have twin 250 verados (2009, 3000+ hours) on our Parker 900, so looking forward to seeing how the new 350s do!

Doing the interior GRP in white would be blinding for our guests/crew in our sun!

Congratulations on your excellent choice of colours. I'm sure you will be very happy with them. I look forward to more pictures of swimming pigs.

P.S. GRP can be different colours on the outside and the inside

I suspect that you've already decided actually, but since you asked I wouldn't go for red tubes as they are one of the worst colours for keeping their looks especially in the sun. Grey tubes would look good for much longer and will have the benefit of being cooler. You can get grey and red rubbing strake that would make it look more distinctive.

How about keeping the interior GRP grey but going with red console and seat pods to add some colour?

there used to be a tool on the humber website where you could play around with tube / strake / console / hull colour to get the most hideous combinations possible. I can't find it now - but google took me to the hunton one... 1005 RIB configurator | Hunton

of course i clicked all the options and came up with the same picture

How long would it take to fade the etna red hypalon? Are we talking 10+ years, or a couple of years?

Pretty close I think the red console and jockey bases would be too patchy.

Red and dark blue seem to be the worst for fading, and I've seen examples of both that have been badly affected within a couple of years. I don't know how typical this is, but it's something that I would want to bear in mind.

We have full time crew and off days due to weather, would using something like 303 Aerospace Protectant extend that time to fade?

Red , local trader re-tubed a red 8m cause he couldn't sell it ( it didn't look pretty ) , went for a modern carbon style and sold it straight away...............

Using 303 does help, but in your climate I think Red tubes are a mistake.

Carbon off white would look really cool
