Andre, I apologise unreservedly. My reaction to the posts of certain induviduals is instinctive and in no way meant to drift this thread anymore than a debate on driving in snow should. For the record although I don't have a RIB now so clearly in some eyes are not qualified to comment, I think Nauti-boys Parker 900 looks like the dogs danglies and another quality Parker build. (As was the earlier incarnation of seahawk that you kindly took me out on a few years ago.)
Richard enjoy your RIB. Will you be using her through the winter?

Hi Alan
Thank you, yes planning on keeping it on the water throughout the winter, just wrapping up warm when I go out. Plus some of the winter days can be the best days out on the water. Personally I quite enjoy going out in the cold, face burning, stopping for lunch for a pint in a pub with a warm fire, then cruising back home.
Mind you the cold we get here is not a patch on what you get.
regards
Richard

Absolutely, there are so many questions that need answering, like were is the fridge to make ice for the Pimms how big is the BBQ , why is the steering wheel on the wrong side ? how long will this take to float off from Priory Bay and when can we all have a drive

Hehehehehe
1) To avoid the icebergs
2) So they can reach the Pimms dispenser
3) To get a better suntan
4) The plans were in euro
I'm not volunteering to help shift this one off Priory!!!!

Sorry to say there is no fridge on board, however there will be a BBQ, Cool Box for those lovely sunny days on Priory Bay. As for floating off Priory Bay at least you will have company long after everyone else has floated off, then we can blame each other, as to why we did not move our boats sooner, sitting on the beach each of us thinking well he has not moved his Rib yet so I should be ok . As for having a drive Pete, anytime you are most welcome.

This weekend 11th/12th
Well thankfully the snow has cleared sufficiently enough so my RIB is now en-route somewhere across Poland heading for Calais So the plan is Myself, Andre, The Jackeens are heading to Calais on Saturday, get the Rib prepared and in the water, then Sunday bring her back, weather looks good so far.
Our plan after leaving Calais to stop for lunch at Brighton Marina and top up with fuel, then head for Littlehampton to drop Andre off, then carry on back to the Solent, so I guess we will arrive somewhere mid afternoon all being well.
We will be monitoring channel 77 so if you are out then feel free to Radio us.

Congratulations Richard.
Looking good! As you know, i have been following this from the start.
Full marks to Andre for the PR exercise at Ribex!
Full marks to Richard for taking the step to order this monster of a rib.
I have seen some of the pics of the build and from a distance it looks to be of the highest degree! I am sure its going to be a beast of a boat.
Not sure i can stretch to filling her up but i do owe you a few lunches at the moment Richard!

Calais to Port Solent
OK guys at last the rib is on the way to Calais and we all look forward to a great cruise back to the UK. The weather as I gather is not 100% perfect but this time of the year what can one expect. There is no turning back we are going.
The final names of those making the crossing are
Richard "Nauti Bouy"
Paul & Kathleen "Jackeens"
Mike C
Simon Everett
and myself
Simon will be conducting a boat test on behalf of Rib International and if one is going to carry out such test, isn't such a trip the perfect grounds for it.
Bogi had shown interest in joining us so if he gets himself to Calais on time there will be a seat for him.
Many thanks to all who have contributed to this interesting thread. My special thanks go to Zippy who, if he makes himself known to me at Ribex2007 or any other event we may attend, he will always get a special ride on a Parker Rib
Watch this space for details of our crossing

Richard, you must be well pleased.
Andre, congratulations to you and Parker.
10 weeks from order to delivery is very impressive for any bespoke boat.
I hope you all have a safe and enjoyable maiden voyage.
Have you got a MMSI yet? Maybe some of us could ping you a couple of position requests as you pass along the south coast.

Yes very pleased with the Rib so far, 10 weeks I think is very good going really, with no compromise to the quality either. Should be a good crossing back, have not got my MMSI number through yet, no doubt it will arrive on Saturday when we've already left!! We will be listening on Channel 77, Rib name Nauti Buoy (No Surprise there then)

who is the gArfish anyway?
Hehehehe
What a privilege being among such illustrious company. Thanks Nauti for having us along.
(We have spent weeks studying to get our 'Scurvy Crew' Kwallification. We've studied some Polish and all (not the Antiques Roadshow stuff but the proper lingo)!)
We have backup this and that and those as well!
Not sure if Richard will be able to adjust the trim enough to balance out
1) the Polish flag
2) the RIBnet pennant
3) the ensign
4) all the borscht and sausages
We have been informed that flares are not allowed on the ferry as they are classed as pyrotechnics by the jovial ferry capitaines!!!!!
Looking forward to this trip as one of the best we have been on Nauti & Andre! See ye tomorrow for an early start heading for Calais.
Kathleen & Paul
gArf stop watching your filthy fillums the rumours about Nauti and Andre are not true. At all, at all!!!
