Buy a Jiggle Syphon and put your can on the tube..... Face reality and accept that boats get dirty and damaged

Brand new, or used and new to me, really doesn't matter. I will only have one RIB, I am spending a goodly amount of money on my one RIB, I want to keep it looking as good as possible, for as long as possible.
Some stains and damage with boat ownership are inevitable, some can be avoided. I prefer to avoid those that can be avoided, wherever possible.

Then get some sort of fabric to put under the can to prevent the stains.
As others said you are overthinking a very simple situation

Strikes me that the guy asked a simple question to which some some people are over thinking the answer.

I agree I may be overthinking things, but until the boat arrives next month I am land-bound so have plenty of time to think.

All pumps like this normally fail in same way, seals dry up and start to leak fairly quickly. I use something similar for fuelling up my big planes and they are good for 6 months and then in bin.....maybe this is my answer.

might be a daft question but can you not pour the fuel from the can using a spout? I have a 20l steel jerry can with a detachable steel spout. My filler is under the front seat and not that accessible with the can so I've stuffed some 19mm tube on the end of the spout and can now easily pour the contents across in a few seconds. No need to rest it on tubes or seats. It worked just as well with my old boats console mounted filler.

Good point Phil, unfortunately filling from a spout is not allowed within the confines of the marina, must be some kind of pump or syphon device.

Six months ...and in a non Salty environment... says it all Mate...the jiggle siphon pipe (3/4") is the way to go....had mine 10yres and its kept on the Boat ...
Emptys a 25litre can in no time
I've also used it on a friends boat to empty IT ...after his bilge pump failed on a mooring overnight in a thunderstorm.

I watched someone do that this summer in a Bayliner.....more petrol went in the sea than in the tank!

No need for all this messing about as so many have said a Jiggle syphon is the way to go. I have used one for years and hardy ever spilt a drop

ALL offers of solutions are much appreciated thank you TimB. I actually quite like that, I could make a few quid by servicing the rest of the marina......

Will they not allow VP jugs with the long hoses?
Depends where tank filler is located but type with auto shut off are sometimes allowed.
