For any Ribnet readers who want a great RIB cruising ground and can trail to France then you really must go to Trebeurden on the North Brittany coast. It is East of Roscoff. Good and safe launching and storage; plenty of islands with wonderful beaches to visit - see a new one every day. Les Sept Isles which is about 15 miles away is well worth a visit. Ploumanach which has a Disney castle at the entrance is great for RIBs. If you are also a diver then the water is crystal clear. Seriously I sailed this area for many years with the family and it was their favourite spot. (Oh yes fuel easily available.)

Brought the boat across on the ferry to Le Havre. Good news on the corroguard, glad you got sorted. My advice would be to take the lower cowls off, give the engine a good wash including the powerhead, use a rose on the hosepipe at low pressure & don't squirt into the air intake. Let it dry & then spray the leg from the edge of the lower cowl all the way up & do the powerhead. No need to go mad as a little goes a long way & it lasts forever once it's on. I've only done mine once from new & they are 5 years old now & like new. Remove the main cowl after each outing & rinse off the powerhead, injectors, flywheel, the lot

Second this but unfortunately petrol is not actually that readily available or at least as we have found. Treburden has some, but the next place left to have it is Aber Wrach and the next place right to have it is Lezardrieux. Of course that is for people cruising past if you base yourself there you shouldn't have an issue. Lovely area, the pictures I have added above are mostly from Ploumanac'h!
Went down to Bordeaux today to see the 6.2m Osprey shown in the other thread, great day out Would put the pictures up but left the camera in the plane

Sold my SIB and have been looking for a RIB but just couldnt find anything within budget in good condition... ok the budget wasnt much... just before summer hols this popped up locally...within budget... just missing rubber ring round the outside! Has far more family friendly seating than a similar size RIB and although ultimately a RIB may be quicker this is still great fun.. and thats what matters!
