Police riot RIBs for use in film
Hello folks, I wonder if anyone can help me.
I am a film producer working in pre-production on a mid-low budget short film in association with Film London.
This film features a scene in which two police RIBs carry riot officers up the Thames.
It is a docu-drama based on true events set in the early 2000s, so we'd want to be as accurate to the type of vehicle that would be used at this time.
Does anyone happen to know what type of boat would be likely to have been used in this kind of scenario?
Also where we would be mostly likely to be able to hire one, or a closest equivalent that could be dressed to look similar?
Any advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.
Do you definately know that Thames Police were using RIBs at that time?
I would have thought they would be Delta's if they were?

Chas Newens Marine have a RIB that they regularly use for filming as a Police Rib.
Its an Arctic with twin 130 Outboards, all black and very similar to the arctics the Met Police use.
Call them and ask to speak to Julie Newens on 020 8788 4587 or check out their website http://www.chastheboat.co.uk/contact_us.htm

Met police had a couple of Ribtecs with diesels and jets, possibly a bit earlier than the 2000s though.
