Polish champion windsurfer attempts to windsurf across the Baltic sea

Polish champion windsurfer Max Wojcik is currently attempting to do what has never been done before – Windsurf 300 km unattended across the Baltic sea from Karlskrona Sweden to Gdynia Poland. The winds have not been the best so a decision was taken to leave on Friday 21 June and make a night crossing. His route can be followed on Max Wójcik - Podbój Ba?tyku - Post?p wyprawy Parker Poland ie Parker Ribs are one of the many sponsors of this record attempt and have provided the support vessel in means of a Parker 1000 Baltic RIB with twin Mercury Verado 300 . The Parker rib is crewed by our Chris who never misses such opportunities and a Parker engineer. There are two WOPR lifeguards on board and a TV crew from the Polish TV station TVN who are covering the whole event. It is expected they will arrive to Gdynia later today

Photos will be posted by Chris when he gets the chance with some information on the performance of the rib on such a long distance across the Baltic sea.

Well he made it arriving in style surrounded by many ribs with the Parker rib in the lead. I watched his arrival live on TVN24 and in his interview he said that for most of the journey he maintained a speed of 24 knots. It will be interesting to hear from Chris how the rib performed and what the fuel consumption was bearing in mind he was not speeding.
