POrt Solent Marina Slipway ?

Have been asked to do some safety boat work for an event inside the marina at the above in the summer.

I'm wondering if there is a slipway internal to the marina at all ?

It'll all be based in the marina so the fact low tide is around lunchtime wont matter - unless we have to slip and lock in on the Saturday

I know of the slip at the northern corner of the harbour on the way in - just off the A27.

Anyone have any ideas as to the potential for a slip on the inside ?

Thanks

Pete

Im almost sure there's isnt Pete

The public one in the corner and Tipnor are prob your only option but heavily restricted to tide.

I know the DryStack at Trafalgar has a slip but i've enquired about using it before and the answer was. 'members only'

Low Flyer is the one to ask mate.

Thanks James - yep - Chris his the man in the know ...

I didn't think there was ( based on being from not far from there ..) -looks like they can launch your boat via the crane mon-Friday - but not much help for a sat thing .

Going up there on Sat to check it all out and speak to the marina guys as to what they can do... don't really want to get into locking in and out ..

There isn't a slipway in the marina, as you've said it's crane only.

Also as has been said the public slipway outside the entrance to the marina is very restricted, not just by the tide but by access, parking and various council vehicles and Joe public using it to park on.

Unless they will give you free access to the crane you'd be better off launching at Gosport and going in through the lock.
There is currently no parking at the Camber for a trailer remember, unless you can do a deal with Dry Run in that respect.

Nasher.

As stated no slip in Marina, slip in Northern corner ok at HW Springs but be prepared for sea weed, can be a nightmare. I'm sure Marina will be accommodating if you're assisting them with safety boat duties.

Peter, right opposite Port Solent is Trafalgar Wharf. They have a good slip with excellent secure parking but it's not public. Have a word with Jonny Boys of JBT Marine, explain who you are (a mention of RIBnet might help) and I'm positive he'll help you out.
