Price of a Humber

I have been offered a very cheap (£2000) Humber 7mtr not sure what model but its about 11 years old or maybe more. it comes with a 200 engine and a traler. The tubes are deflating very slowly and the guy is having to pump these up every week and so will need replacing quite soon. The rib looks a little unloved (and orange) but the hull looks to be in an ok condition.

any advice would be greatly received!

Many thanks

Welcome to Ribnet!

It could be a good buy, and the tubes may only need new valves, or ifg you're really lucky, new rubbers for the valve caps. It could be that simple.

I would guess the trailer is not going tobe much cop.

The engine is also not likely to be reliable, and I would be thinking of changing it.

Can you post some pics? Very fdifficult to make useful comments without them, or at least without more details.

As far as i can see there is no marking on the tubes - think it may be too much work and end up at about 6K which is what I can buy one for so may not go down that route

I acquired my Humber Attaque, built in the 80s, for £800 including trailer and 60hp Johnson a couple of years ago. It had been stored outside and was green with slime.
The trailer had to be replaced immediately, the engine started second time after an oil change and has run well ever since (with one service by Kieron at RibShop) and a few tubes of Rib Revive later the tubes are bright orange again.

The moral being old Humbers never die!
