Very Veryfast service.

Are these a new recall or the old one just re-released?
I had quite few replaced and SEAGO were very good. All mine are with annual servicing checks for codeing presently and they had not seen this re- call

Oh well they were good last time and I got quite a few new ones out of the recall and have bought a load more this last year so when they come back from inspection I will check again and see if they will do a delivery to a chandlery local to us.
Brian good to hear from you and with cheating yes of course you were on XS ribs at the Southampton Boat show next to us a senior moment or three sorry

Mr Pentin is being a little tricky here!
It's not news - Seago extended the production period affected by the recall way back (like in 2008).
The current range of Seago lifejackets are certainly not affected by the recall and nor should their quality be called into question now.
I'm amazed that anyone related to lifejacket sales or service had not seen info - there was a lengthy advertising campaign in trade and consumer press.
Nonetheless, anyone with Seago lifejackets should check the dates on the production tag inside the cover for this range IV/05, I/06, II/06, III/06, IV/06, I/07 and II/07

I bought 4 Seago lifejackets in 2006 when i got my boat, I chose Seago because they were cheap.
A year later i blew them up in my bedroom using the oral inflation tube to test them.
1 of them didn't hold air, it immediately dumped all the wind out of the tube!
I binned the lifejacket and emailed Seago to tell them, they didn't get back to me.
Then I started reading about all the recalls.
In my experience 25% of Seago's products don't work, they know this and keep knocking out safety equipment.
I think Seago should start making bouncy castles or something else that doesn't risk peoples lives when they fail to do the job properly.
All the best, Jim

you didn't think that with a safety issue you should have sent back the defective jacket for them to investigate, or since your were so concerned follow up the email with a phone call, letter etc to ensure that the right person got it?
Out of interest what did you do with the other 3 jackets?

I agree Brian, but also I posted a similar forum some months ago and Doug was able to say it was out of date and I also got it from same source as your item!

No I just sent the email,
I was concerned that someone might have relied on the jacket in question but once I'd slashed it and thrown it away that wasn't an issue any more.
I'd like to think that whoever read it would bring it to the attention of the right person.
I've still got the others, I don't use them
All the best, Jim
