Have you had it wet yet? The normal stuff appears ok when it's dry, then turns into a baby oil slick as soon as it gets any water on it. I thought Ribcraft used 303 but I could be wrong. I've just had a look on their website & in fact Armour All DOESN'T contain petroleum distillate, so I was wrong on that point, it does however contain silicone which would account for the slipperiness. Silicone could also make future glued repairs a problem.

No not slippy even when wet. I don't put loads on anyway and rub it in till it is all gone. Not sure if the semi matt stuff is any different to the shiny but will check out Armor alls website.

Just read through this, nice work!
Does anyone know of any polish which is still slippery when wet? Would be good for the underside of a thundercat

Racing boats use something, surfers, skiers etc trouble is if you get a puncture I suppose it might give problems

Back at this again.
Hull prepped and primed. I've gone for HMG Polykote 2k MU Primer and A211 topcoat in RAAL 2009. I was going to go for HMGs new 4G topcoat but they only sell it in 5litre tins, double what I need.
Struggled to get the primer through my gun, it requires a larger paint tip.
Console has been prewired before fitting. NMEA 2k network being used for engine data on a Garmin 740s, I've also got my hands on a N2k through Hull transducer.

If you take them with your phone you've a fair chance they'll turn sideeways.
Hull's looking good tho!
I see you've got patches on your end cones - a very good idea on the Destroyer.

Primer cured. Jury is out on the new prime, maybe it wasn't laying down properly but it's filler properties definitely are as good as the Polykote I used on Red Mist. It has certainly bonded well though.
There is only so much sanding in one man's life, I'm reaching mine.
A couple of little niks to sort, I've got a tin of Stopper that should do the trick.

Looks a great job you're doing there.
I'm delighted to see someone taking longer than I did.

After removing the antifoul, which was nearly 1/4 inch thick in places. It also covered some shoddy repairs. All repairs were dug out and redone properly.

Knocked back primer with 80 grit then over it again with 300. A lot happier with the primer now. Delighted with the finish. Colour coat has a very smooth surface to bond to.

A bit more fettling today. The last of the filling and sanding. Anyone who does this in a couple of days must be superhuman or doesn't mind a shit finish.
Primer and colour coat on tomorrow. As the hull is so smooth I'm going to try a "wet on wet" application, primer followed by colour straight after. Il be glad when it's on, 'kin hate masking up.

can i ask if you have already primed it why are you going to prime it again i admire your perseverance in trying to get a good finish but priming it twice is an expensive way to go about it
