I used the first coats of primer purely as a filler, when I knocked it back there were imperfection still visible so took it almost all the way back. Imperfections are now gone. The primer I used was only available in 5 litre tins so it didn't cost me any extra.

The finish came out well. A little bit of orange peel on the transom but I can sort that and there is the odd midgie in it but that will also fix.

Alan, I will use my first post in many years to applaud what must be a labour of love.
I hope you give the wife as much attention.
I sit here in the caravan with the rain pishing down the windows but earlier we were down at a flat calm loch, with glass-like surface, and I hope for at least one sail this year for us all.

As light fella? Yes it's a labour of love but I enjoy working on boats as much as I enjoy using them. We should meet up half way one day and grab some lunch somewhere.

Great idea, although I think we have more chance if we use a car.
I’d like to offer some valuable input and advice but I’m a bit s**te at this kind of thing.
Hope you are well, staying safe and sane.
I missed my game pate this year by the way.

Cheers.
I look forward to seeing the end result, with possibly a funky colour scheme.

Wet sanded then polished back. I got half of one side done, the cutting compound I have is the stuff I usually use on cars, this paint is waaaay to hard for it. New cutting pads and heavier compound ordered.

Final paintwork pics as they must be getting boring. Some will say why spend the time on the bit that sits in the water and rarely gets seen but I enjoy working on the boats as much as I enjoy using them so this to me is half the fun.

Defiantly not boring at all, you've made a wonderful job of that boat - very well done.
And I completely understand the enjoyment you're getting from doing it.
Keep the photos coming.
Many thanks

You should spash that while it's shiny.

Managed to get some time on the boat over the last few days. It's now the right way up and sitting on the trailer.
All cables, hydraulic hoses and fuel lines have been run below deck. The cables coming through the bilge well bulkhead are for the A-frame wiring on one side and the bilge pump wiring on the other side. Both these holes will be covered by Scanstrut deck glands.

What is the black stuff on the deck? Non-slip flow coat?
