Agree with the comments so far.

How about including some of the major elements of the PB2 course - so you are giving people an idea of what you are offering - maybe just as 10 second sections in the video with a caption ?

I did think of that but could turn into a training video all I wanted was a taster to whet the appetite .

It is hard to get the right level basic bumps and grinds and some speed is what I feel gives a taster after that I fill in all the gaps also a training vid like suggested would be abit long.

Ticked the boxes for me. Words may be better but imo not a real necessity - after all, the words are on the rest of the website. As a prospective customer, your place looks good, the boat looks good and you (or your instructor) don't seem to be terrifying the ladies, so my wife would be happy to come too. No razz ma tazz. I felt I would get just what it said on the tin.

That's a fair comment: but both crew should be seen to be helming. We've yet to see Jane behind the wheel.

I know you are right Dave but for some reason they were cut to try and make it short and sweet , I dont want to remake it but in hindsight I should have had more input in the final edit .

I will stick Jane on the Motor Boat Video when we get round to it , I dont think she wants to be in the PWC /Jetski video .

All comments are taken onboard for me it looked ok but that was from an Instructors point of veiw , what I need and am getting is what customers want to see or hear so very positive feed back as to how to make it better.

Thanks for everyones help.

Agree the seaweed has to go, some of the scenes were about a second too short in my opinion, but everyone's different.

Tim, the wife thinks two girls is a bit 'cheesy' and agrees with the seaweed comments. She likes the higher speed stuff and where it shows you giving direct instruction as it is more in keeping with the tuition you offer.

A female point of view whether you wanted it or not!

All comments appreciated mate

I have had some interesting feed back some good some bad, some saying I dont promote all the courses I run or myself enough.
Others saying its total crap and should be re done.

I had the video shot two years ago as it's been kicking around in drawer for a while now, and am trying to think of way's to promote the school with out going ott sounding big headed or self promoting as I hate that.

But next week I am told the voice over will be done so looking forward to the comments that come out of it.

Cheers Tim

I've just watched the video or the first time, and as a new RIB owner it is a service that I would consider.

The video gives a real "feel" for the service you offer, and I feel anything to give "theatre" to your website is essential as technology moves forward.

So it's a thumbs up from me.

Hi Tim,

Just watched it for the first time and think it's very good.

Only one thing I think I would change with the voice-over: There's a bit where you say something like "after you've driven the boat at a safe and comfortable speed.." ..."We'll take you for a trip round the Solent". Might be better to say "We'll teach you how to drive at speed in the Solent".

As others have said it might also be worth having some shots (30 - 40 seconds max) of the more advanced courses at the end - night / rough weather etc so that it shows more of what you do and brings people on for the advanced courses. - If all a customer does is look at the video it could look a bit touchy feely and for beginners only. Some are lazy and won't bother to look at the rest of the site.

Pretty good though.

Duncan

Hi Duncan

I know what you mean and it is real hard to get the level right . For some speed can mean many things 40/50 knots so trying to choose the words carefully .

I pitched it purely at level 2 as this is the most popular course that 90% of our clients take , then I upsell the other courses when I have them as a captive audience It's not perfect I know and will maybe put in some other shots of the other courses later on. This is a test really If it does make an impact I am sure other schools will follow suit and I will need to have one done for the Jetskis and Motorcruising scheme all take time and money so seeing if this works.

Feed back so far is encouraging
Chers
Tim

Promo

I thought the Mk2 version a fair bit better, and for the 90% of your students on the level 2 course I think that it hits the spot. For those going for the more advanced courses, they should know more or less what to expect anyway!
