I think it looks great and reminds me of the old 1970s tv series the Avengers logo
Not that it really matters these days but i think there was a strict rule many years ago in boating and ships flag etiquette/ protocol that the Union flag/jack could not be displayed on a boat or ship on its own unless it was part of of a recognised flag , eg red ensign or the red duster,,,,
lets face it I haven't ever seen anyone in the court file of the local newspaper getting a fine for it lol
But! in the 1970,s I worked for an old established British company that was a major supplier of thermal clothing we also had a sailing yacht for general cruising and undertook the Fastnet race ect
logo was just a lion/ incorporated union jack on the side of the hull
but it was only on for a short while until the directors had a letter from some government department demanding it be removed,
I can just imagine nowadays in the depths of Whitehall some brass plate on the door of an dingy dusty office ( Flag Inspector) lol

That's a really good point, I might do some rummaging and mention it to the owner.

How about some window film with a tint on the windows to 'complete' the flag more ?
Even the flag in grey tint woudl really finish it off ?

We did think about it and I can get an opaque red film for glass but as most of it is a removable plastic cover type screen we didn't see much point.

If it had the Olympic Rings on it you'd stand more chance of being strung up than sporting the Union flag.

I think this RIB lives in or around Chi harbour and was also in the papers doing the Thames Royal Jubilee event?

I read that a school kid got a criminal record for trying to earn a bit of cash selling T shirts with the Olympic logo, and she had to hand over all her stock too.
And she had paid for all the printing and travel and wasn't a pikey and was legally in the UK and they were reasonably priced and people were happy to buy them because they were good quality and value for money.

I may have posted this twice, sorry if I have , last reply didn`t seem to come up so writen it out again ..I need L plates ,,,,Great pictures of the jubilee. I was asked to paint from one of the Bridges for this but didn`t get the email until too late so didn`t go looks great fun .
Paintings this size cost £400 . The union jack rib is at Green buoy arts cowes ,which is where my studio is (they do send work by post if asked) and take a sizable cut from me for showing it in the Gallery lol This size takes two weeks min to do so not a bad price really .... I`m going to post the youtube clip on my face book page love it wish I`d gone now ... now there may be two versions of this reply choose the one you like the best if there is lol
