Putting Knob on Steering Wheel (ooh err missus!)

A number of years ago a boating colleague installed one of these on his RIB. Unfortunately, going downwind on a breezy day he "stuffed" it which resulted in his chest impacting on the steering wheel and a broken rib/severe bruising occasioned by the steering knob.......beware.

I think my gps screen would break my nose before the knob hit my chest. Also, don't forget the corner of the throttle box taking out your knee cap

None of it would be pleasant but I will say I have found it much safer on a daily basis to have a knob on the steering while I'm working on the RIB. Hands down

You know those knob-thingies you see on forklifts and the like? Would they be of any benefit on a rib. I'm pretty sure a normal motor factors would have them. Surely they'd make fast steering-wheel rotations easier?

I've seen my fair share of knobs at the steering wheel but not many on them...
