PVC, does it really need washing after every use?

Factually how resistant is PVC to salt? Of course ideally one should always wash ones boat. But sometimes when away from fresh water its just not possible.

Are you deflating and folding it up?
Salt crystals are very abrasive so if you are folding it up I would rinse it. If you are just putting it back in the water as is some other day then rinsing really doesn't accomplish much.

no not folding up, just leaving it under its cover.

Hmmf, I don't really try to wash my boat. I do wash off the trailer and outboard every time though.

RIBase
It'll stand up to salt much better than it stands up to sunlight, I wash my (hypalon) boat off every time, but I can & I'm doing the trailer anyway so it's no great shake. I wouldn't get too hung up on washing the boat off each time out. I wouldn't want salt to build up in the engine or on the mechanical bits though, if I could avoid it.

Salt isn't good for anything to be fair, my boat gets a full wash off every time, top to bottom
