QS 350, good?
I missed out on the zodiac 340.
Am now looking at a hypalon 350 ocean runner by quiksilver, are they any good? Fiberglass hull.

Was the Zodiac 340 a sib or rib ? If sib, a Quicksilver is other story and being Hypalon much better. A rib peforms much better on all water cond than a sib.

the 340 zodiac was a yachtline rib, its pvc but has neo on the bottom. its a 2005 from memory. the quicksilver is all hypalon and a 2012. they look fairly similar but the zodiac has fatter pontoons more like a caribe.

Greetings from the uk.
I bought an ocean runner last year, and cant complain about about a thing, so far so good. It's handling was a big improvement from my previous sib. The only thing I have found is it can be a very bouncy ride in choppy conditions as it has quite a shallow hull and is very light, but I think that's the case with most boats of this size. Good value for money and mine had stood up to some quite hard use.
I've heard really good things about the bombard aerotec, but not sure if they are available where you are, or if you can get them in hypalon. If you have any questions about the ocean runner feel free to ask.
Bill

It's a 340 rib, we've just put a new mercury 20hp on ours and are still running it in but managed 23 knots 2 up yesterday. Once it's run in and we can use full throttle it's should be a quick little rib.

A small rib rides, cuts water much better on chop than a sib, but that doesn't mean it will jump less than a sib, tubes do touch water so could bang against chop, tiny waves and produce a unconfortable jumpy ride....

dont plan on going out in anything too gnarly 1 metre total sea height max, usually no chop and all swell. i quite like the bouncing, better than jarring I use to get in my tin boat.
