And... This is the coolest looking RIB I've ever seen, well, at least touched. Props to RibCraft!

I'm crossing my fingers for this to go well

Why have your expectations become so unreasonable? It would be a shame if an entire country was deprived of such good products. Can we assume you are are 'Import Minister' for Norway, or are you just having your strings pulled by your local boat bodger?

Yep, and if that happened you'd take the vehicle to the manufacturer's agent for the repairs to be carried out FOC.

In the low volume world of RIB's, the manufacturers agent is the manufacturer himself.

I haven't been able to visit this site much the last few months. Been busy working (not vacation).

My response to Jason.

This is really not an option. As the ransportation costs would far exceed any repair cost as I've previously stated.

I've got no idea of what you are talking about? Anyone else?
I just know that they have rebuilt several boats with up to 2x350 HP outboard engines running extreme trips daily.
And you really don't have to be a boat builder to see the fault with your construction. Just some plain basic understanding of logic and physics.

The man-hours you saved could be refunded to me - that was all I asked. Obviously you misinterpreted this, as you have done with several of my emails to you - misinterpretation or just lack of reading...
I never asked for 3000GBP refund. And blackmail? No.
You chosed to respond here acting like the knight in shining armour. Fine by me. I have pictures showing severe constructions defects in a transom, for a rib of type Ribcraft.

As for those giving Ribcraft "thumbs up", fine by me. Just the fact that I have to find "responses to my emails" here, instead of in my inbox says enough for my part.
Ribcraft is doing it's outmost come out on top on this forum.

Now, if someone could just give me the colour code for the grey coating on the boat I would be happy:

quaoar, isn't the RIB out of any warranties now? if it is, really the company do not need to do anything about it. Could the problem with your transom and tubes (other thread) be from your RIB having a hard life before you got it?

I've no connection with RIBcraft but a boat coming on for 5 years old could have had a huge amount of punishment.

Hmm .. I'd give any respondant a hard time if I thought it was justified.. you said you dont check the forum much, so you cant blame the fact that the only response you got was here ? Nobody here, is paid to say Ribcraft do a fine job, so perhaps you want to check your correspondance better and for one .. I supported your original cause .. but I also thoughtRibcraft came back to help you ?

I would have thought RIBcraft would have quite happily provided this if you weren't being beligerent here. Given the "latest" problems with your boat - I don't think I would be "burning my bridges" with RIBcraft!

Think he maybe referencing the manufacturer 'R' you mentioned in the post below.

That’s funny because I was waiting for your reply and you logged in several times after my post.

You choose to put the issue in the public domain by posting on the forum without even contacting me directly, don’t be surprised if I’m brutally honest in my replies to your unreasonable demands. Right the way through our correspondence, you’ve always known best and have had the attitude that it’s our fault alone that you’ve brought a boat and had these problems.

If I’d totally dismissed you without offering assistance I could understand this, I sympathise that you’ve experienced these problems, but I’ve also been more than fair in the offers of assistance.

I think that’s about all I’ve got to say on the matter to be honest

Jason

I know this is none of my business, but quaoar, honestly, it looks like Ribcraft is being more than decent about this.

I'm having similar problems with an 8 year old Zodiac Medline (see thread - http://rib.net/forum/showthread.php?t=31652), and zodiac has not even got back to me on queries about transom design yet.

I'm surprised to see an offer for free repairs for an out of warranty boat, kudos!

If there's anyone you should take issue with, it's the chap who sold you the boat in the first place.

Cheers
