Only if you wish to leave a tip, the £1.7Bn will cover the rest.
Big news down here (12m from Culdrose). The general feeling locally is that its a good thing. The Navy have promised no loss of numbers at Culdrose. The new SAR choppers will be based at Newquay airport which helps with it's viability. The new Sikorskys will be superior to the outgoing Seakings etc. The crews, no doubt will be ex Navy/RAF.
As Willk has mentioned, there will be concerns over hatches falling off.

The larger of the choppers is the S92, its like a flying mini bus.
The contract is through Bristows in Aberdeen, not the US.
As far as I'm aware all the pilots that fly choppers out of Aberdeen are ex MOD anyway?

Irish Army Helos on Active Duty in Northern Ireland
I was pleased to see our Army Air Corp providing a bit of assistance in Northern Ireland today - providing SAR services and supply missions, bolstering the activities of the overwhelmed Chinooks of the RAF.
No Charge of course, but yiz owe us one
Check the video in the link. The Army will have been deployed because the CHC helos don't "do" underslung loads. Also 'cos it was a hell of a photo-op
