RIBase
Rule of thumb (before Brexit and cost of living crisis) was around a £1k a metre. Thing is these businesses aren’t based in Scotland, so you will need to haul south. You also don’t want to cut corners on this sort of thing. Done right, good for 20-25 years.

Henshaws, Tilley, XS Ribs. Delta are there too, but suspect cost will be astronomical as they’re really commercial outfitters. I follow Ribshop on Facebook and their work looks top notch.

Get some quotes and take it from there. Costs will vary on finish if going for OE Delta, with wear patches, grab handles, etc.

I don't have any personal experience of these companies but try

https://ribretube.co.uk
- near Edinburgh

Or possibly

https://specialisedmarinesupport.com/boat-building/
- I think workshop's in Ballachulish although contact info is Oban

Good luck

I can recommend Tilley's, they retubed our Revenger last year and did a great job but as previously suggested, ring round, get some prices and see who you feel most comfortable with, but my guess is whoever you decide to use there will be a wait as they all seem to be busy

I was quoted a fair bit more than 1k/ meter and nowhere had any space this year for a 4.7 [emoji848]...

Pretty sure they are the same company as 'Ribretube'. Good to know that as I suspect I'll be paying them a visit sometime

Re tube

Thanks folks, I will try from the north and work my way down. At the moment I want to get budget costs to refurbish the boat.
Many thanks

If the tubes are structurally sound and just look tired you could look at the Ultraflex paint sold by Ocean Art, they sell the paint you apply and it's under £1,000 for the paint so way more affordable - just a thought

I have just had my 5 meter Tornado done and it cost just over 5k with the vat. I did a lot of ringing around and there was not a lot between them. They all said the same thing though and that is they were booked up till the end of summer. I had mine done in PU at XS Ribs/ribs retube ltd in hull and I can tell you they were brilliant to deal with...and they made a cracking job...give them a call and ask for James....they do Hypalon for about the same cost too.

I spoke to him a few weeks back...nice chap and he was about the same as all the others...a little under Henshaws...but his books were full until late summer.

My brother used Ribs Marine Services in Helensburgh. He was pleased with the work but they prioritise their commercial work (they do all the MOD and police boat contracts up there I think) so I think he sat in a queue for a while.

I'm way up in the Hebrides and we had Specialist Inflatable Technologies in Preston retube our Scorpion for us. Very pleased with the job & they were very helpful. They are part of MST ribs & make tubes for a lot of different rib manufacturers. At the time ours was done they had a driver they used that for a decent price would meet up & collect the rib/trailer & deliver it back after the job was done. We met him in Stirling both times which saved us a lot of towing down to Preston. So, worth trying SIT for a price! 👍
