I guess to fully comply the marinas will have to add another diesel storage tank and pump for white diesel - for some this is going to be very difficult

Would they need to or could they just remove the “heating” derogation & charge full price for the diesel & issue a receipt to prove tax paid?
Or we could just spin it out for another 12 months or so [emoji848]

as far as I know if you are not a commercial operator they will charge to the full amount but if you are private you may get away with 40/60 so 40 for heating and 60 for propulsion
saying this I have seen a gin palace filling up and the owner saying he is commercial

After Brexit we can tell em to f off. So I guess a bit of delaying tactic is all that's required.

If you cross the channel then you might get your collar felt though. That could become a tricky one for you southern folks.

I dont think the problem is the tax as our hmrc have essentially covered this by saying pleasure boats have to pay the duty
Id imagine the only solution is to make boats fill up with white but we all know thats not practical so I'd imagine it will be spun out till we get out of europe

Presumably it depends on the marina - some must sell very small amounts of diesel to genuine commercial users and switching to white diesel only would be simpler - with the potential that commercial diesel users reclaim duty on white as petrol users currently do.
