Hi guys, I wanted to post this here on the main forum to see if anyone has heard of this brand Rib. Its a Red Knight Inflatables (New Zealand) from 1991. It looks like it has a searider type hull. Not sure if those inlet and outlet ports are blocked from the factory or added.

It was for sale locally just 10 minutes down the highway for real cheap so I couldnt resist. I will have a refurb thread in the NA forum with pics as I start to take it apart and refit it. Any info appreciated.

If that's not a retubed Searider with a modified transom, it's bloody close. I wonder quite how close?

For the hell of it, I did a bit of intensive googling. You might find these guys have some contact info as they appear to have broken the company up. Just how much info they're allowed to give is another matter I guess.

Search New Zealand Business Directory, Listings and Reviews on find it online

Oh yes indeed.

Thanks for the intel Nos4r2, it really does look like a searider hull. The main difference I see inside is that it has more convential knees in the transom and not the stainless supports. I will uncap those plugs and see what happens. Hopefully she doesnt sink.

RHiB identification

Hi tworotorturbo,

Your post regarding your Red Knight popped up on my google search about this rhib builder here in NZ.

I'm in asimilar situation to yourself in trying to identify a rhib I have recently purhased for the purpose of putting into survey to run on commercial diving jobs here in Auckland.

Survey requires hull plans or histry of sister hulls being in survey but this hull has no identification at all! The seller intimated that it had been in naval use which is why all ID had been removed.

Any help in identifying this hull would help me out alot as I've drawn a blank with queries from the Navy.

By the way, internet searches on Rd Knight have a tenuous link to another Auckland based inflatable company caller Terminator Boats. I'll be talking to these chaps as well.Terminator Boats, Inflatable boats
