Good choice, I looked at Redbay, Ribcraft and Humber they are all good sea going RIBs. I bought a Redbay 650 and think it is a great boat. No problems with it and its handling could not be bettered.

Rib fan,,

I am a big Redbay fan and am on my second boat from them. I am originally from a fishing family on the west coast. I grew up to expect a lot from my boats and have found Redbay to meet and exceed all my expectations. Note the tough environment where they originate and are widely used.

Whilst there are a lot of good boats out there I feel you will find their 6.5 the best sea boat of its size in the market. Check out my previous postings on this matter.

The big benefit of their offering include:

Ursurpassed seakeeping
Probaly the ssstrongest rib in the market
Ease of access to manafacturer
Customisability
Resale value

As previously mentioned go up to the lads for a day. Be warned you might fall in love.

Claiming that Redbay are The Strongest Ribs in the Market is a very strong claim. Most people would agree that Redbay build very good boats and have a very happy customer base but what evidence do you have to back up your claims.

Ezgoing - I have no gripe with Redbay and they are certainly high up my list for when I miraculously win the lottery (without entering!). But some of your claims about their benefits are a bit subjective.

baydreamer is already asking you to justify this. Are you claiming a 6.5m redbay would be significantly stronger than a new Pac22, a similar sized Delta, etc?

Ease of access to manafacturer

that all depends where you are starting from. Gael force/Excalibur are probably no less convenient for the OP in Dublin; and Ribcraft at Yeovil is not the other end of the world. I would have thought it was more important to get a boat that didn't need to go back to the manufacturer than one that was made locally but had to go back.

Customisability

Ribcraft will certainly customise your boat too. In fact apart from the high volume mass production people (ribeye, valiant etc) I can't think who wouldn't? even humber (or their dealers) will build to your requirements.

Resale value

never noticed anyone complain about the resale price of a ribcraft either.

If Ez boy ever swaps the Shedbay in for another brand, will that particular brand then become the mutz nutz?

For a newbie to this site sifting through the brand ownership bias is next to impossible. I like a Vmax, but wouldn't begin to sssuggest that it's better than any other boat in every dddept.

Far be it from me to spoil your fun taking the rise, but you'll probably find that Tim W's Ribeye is one of the dryest riding Ribs on the market.
