Worth mentioning, an entirely different hull to the legendary 9.1m
They are Spawn of the Beast, same as the willkcraft.

Funnily enough I had a similar response from RC when I tried to interest them in providing an albeit small tender for a superyacht. Nor would they give me a CAD GA so I could superimpose it on the yacht - something about me being able to copy the design. It took the shine off them a little bit.
Apologies for going off post.

picture the scene, you get a call from a complete stranger at your work asking for CAD drawings (likely their main IP out with a mould) so you can "see how it works on a super yacht". Would any rib maker give that on spec? I assume you asked redbay, osprey etc and got it though?
As an initial enquiry why wasn't normal length, width, weight etc not suitable?
Post up the redbay CAD, be interesting to see how they compare under the deck
Fwiw both redbay and ribcraft can learn something from osprey when it comes to customer service and specifically for new build quotes and follow ups IMO.

Many manufacturers (not confined to RIBS) are happy to provide arrangements and even 3D models of their products. I've attached one we received from Williams of one of their RIB's for another project. Scania were more than happy to provide a 3D model of their DI-16 engine for a project we were involved in.
We needed an image to put in a GA hence why I asked for a CAD GA. I didn't need construction drawings, just a picture. I'd chosen Ribcraft because of the quality of their boats. I was a little surprised at their lack of interest particularly as the enquiry came from a significant superyacht project about 75 miles from their front door rather than the hotmail account of a "complete stranger".

If all you wanted was a picture then google may have it and if you know how to use CAD then you could have scaled it in seconds. But it is (maybe) your money to spend and if that was not good enough then fair play. They perhaps lost a sale due to not giving the drawings (if they even have a basic CAD) so may offer them next time.
If I owned a RIB company I would offer a basic one I admit but having a look at the good rib builders I can't see any of them offering it on their website, maybe food for thought for them.

Taken from the Redbay site.
Not CAD but very easy to import.

Nope that isn't CAD....which is what you asked for from RC you said.
import a picture (which is all the above is), also very easy to do for any CAD engineer or anyone who can use GIMP for that matter if paying for photo shop isn't your bag.
And I say again, do no harm imo if all rib makers offer base outline with only basic info I agree.
Right, maybe back on topic for once as the OP would struggle to goto sea in a CAD drawing.

Hi
some great comments and having been a redbay fan all my life and having used a lot of both boats in various sizes I would go for a redbay all the time.
Having said all that I would not buy either now as the best build and ride I have ever seen on a boat is the island RIB. Alex Cottle is anal about details , a phil byron type ( yes he is that bad) but to be fair the results of this are clear. just built boat for the artcic survey and these were at seaworks. If they are not worth a call in your mind Redbay as this is now my 2nd fav make of rib.

Imagine if the OP hadn't asked a really specific question where this thread might have gone.

Hi Ashtonmarine,
Thanks for your input... What specifically do you prefer about Redbay over RC?
I think the earlier ‘offshore’ RC’s are the best seaboats (5.45, 6.8, 7.8, 9.0) so it would be comparisons with these that would be most meaningful to me.
I do like the look of the Island RIBs hull (ex Costline?) and they appear to have very fine lines forward but they’re a bit yachty for me to be honest. Even the Antarctic survey boats don’t look like working boats and they’re going to have a hard life!
Do like a Hurricane but that’s a rare beast this side of the Atlantic!
If we’re talking best build quality and money no object, then MST are hands down top of the list in my opinion.

I think we’ve lost all hope of getting back on topic now Iron Dials!! But still, it’s been helpful in the most part so thanks to all the contributors, I am further forward than when I started.

I think the reason the thread went rapidly off topic was BECAUSE the OP was very specific in his question. It would have had few if any replies if we'd stayed true to the original query.

Love the internet!, was looking at more redbays and found this post on my boat (now), have owned it since 2017, and have now watched the video!
