RedKnight 6m CC +2x60hp, any knowledge? Good Project?

Im living in NZ now, I want a big RIB for getting over the treacherous west coast bars and for general diving use.

" 2 x batteries, nav lights, wheel clamp, bait board, rod holders, 100litre inbuilt fuel tank, fire ext, new Fitness sticker on trailer, 2 x Mariner 60HP outboards."

Its a bit older (30 years), but the Hypalon looks very good and the old Mariners have recenly been serviced. I was thinking of selling them, I should get $4-6k and buying a 2008 140hp Merc for $6k off a dealer known to go over their used engines checking them out before selling.

Red Knghts use to be one of the big rib brands in NZ, prior to NZ producing the best ally Pontoon boats in the world.

This one has a glass bottom with a fine entry and ocean designed deadrise.

Asking $7500, I thought for $6500 it could be a good project?

Can I get a bump. I know these were designed for offshore. They are similar to the high end Lancers. Any opinions appreciated. Mostly on whether I should trade in both the old 60s and get a new 90hp or a slightly used 115hp, or a 4 stroke 115hp that has 300 hours but has been taken apart by their mechanics and thoroughly tested etc?

Or I could stay with the dual 60Hp Mariners ? One has just had a carb clean and both have been serviced.

Cannot say much about this particular RIB but my SR6 came with 2x 60hp 2 stroke Yamahas .
The first test drive impressed me actually - not spectacular acceleration but they have done the job well .
I had already 2x 90 ETECs for this project and installed them .
It's more fun to drive but one of the advantages is that I can get the boat now with one motor only on plane .
If the 60s you have are in good shape I personally would not touch them .

Just to add - dont forget the additional weight at the stern with bigger motors . As a tradeoff I didn't install now the big A frame with the self righting equipment .

I let it go, one engine was needing rings done for even compression, which they were doing but took too long then sold. But will keep this in mind if I see another boat with older twins, I like the idea a lot. Heaps of versatility to run 1, or run both.
