when an advert states that tubes or collar has been refurbished by henshaws or any other company what exactly is refurbished.I am currently working on a pac 22 and have a dilema as to purchasing new tubes or purchasing second hand and getting refurbished. any ideas???

that would depend on whoever wrote the advert, someone could say having all lifting edges stuck down is a refurb, someone else could say all new patches was a refurb?

Taking your tubes for a “refurb” and what that would include depends on what needs doing.

Have you seen some tubes advertised as refurbished by henshaws?

Would usually involve replacing any damaged or tatty tube fittings (wear patches, rubbing strake, handles, lifelines etc). Maybe the addition of new fixtures. Any leaks addressed and a good deep clean.

I'd read refurbished tubes as having had all the repairs done and any tatty bits tidied up. Just remember they are still old tidy tubes and unlikely to have anything like the life left in them than a new set it boils down to how much cheaper they are than a new set of tubes. I'd want them to be a substantial saving over new
