Remote Kill switch
Any one advise where I can purchase one as this ?
Not happy using the std merc mounted one on the control box the angle is all wrong for good safety.

That pic looks like the standard Merc kill switch (at least what they have now.) Just replaced my Yam kill switch for this one. Easier for anyone left on board to re-engage the motor (of course, I have yet to put any kind of directions or labelling on, but still...)
jky
P.S. Bought mine off E-bay for about $28US (as I recall.)

Grease the back of the switch, or paint it-they rust where you can't see it when it's in.

They corrode - get a Yamaha one which are sealed 100%, we have to fit extra kill switches for racing and I have never had one fail - I lost an OCR race in Salcombe with Derek Basham because of one of those - it wouldn't have been so bad if we hadn't been leading our home race!

It's already coated by the factory, with a plastic sealent!

I just replaced one- the plastic sealant had gone brittle and was loose/split/blistered away from it by rust under it. The terminals were exposed (if it originally had those awful Merc rubber sleeves they'd come off) and there were nasty brown streaks down the inside of the console.
