Removing jockey seats

Hi all,
I have 2 jockey seats behind the centre console that are taking up usefull dive gear space so I'm thinking of removing them. Whats best to fill the screw holes in the deck after there out? Sikaflex? Gelcoat filler? Anything else?

Many thanks.

Sikaflex or gelcoat filler should be ok.

I'd use a bit of GRP filler (strands of mat mixed with resin, or Isopon P40), sanded flush to the deck when cured and finished with a drop of flowcoat to match the deck colour.

Key to success on this is to ensure the holes in the deck are bone dry before you start filling them in.

Cheers Dai,
I've got a big tub of gelcoat filler that exactly matches the hull colour so if I get time this weekend the seats are coming out.

I was told by my GRP guy to countersink them first to give a decent area to fill

Countersinking is right and also claer out the holes so you are adhering to fresh material. Then use this stuff

Epoxy Putty Stick : Epoxies & Silicon Sealant : Maplin Electronics

Use the gellcoat filler to finish it and make it look nice I wouldn't fill with it because at the end of the day it's polysester based and not as ashesive as epoxy
