Replacing fuel tank in hurricane 590

So I got this 590 I wanna replace the tank with a plastic one. The deck plate I believe has been glued down with 5200. How in hell do I get it up without ruining the boat. So far I got cut it out and use a heat gun.
Other suggestions would be helpful

Long blades from craft knife work well. Also, if you have some thickness like 2-3mm of glue, you can use the multi cutter without damaging your deck. Another one is the guitar string that you have to pull from both sides. The combination of all 3 may work well for you.

On the chemical side, you have an option of dissolving the 5200 with DeBond

I believe I tried the debond and it doesn’t work very well. My impression is that the edge of the deck plate is rounded down. I tried using a bent putty knife I sharpened. That didn’t do to well either. My nxt thought is to use my gantry and put some upward pressure on the plate then try again.
I’m thinking it was glued down because the screws don’t do the job anymore. What’s a solution for that.
Epoxy threaded inserts and get machine screws?

Your idea of upward pressure and then your knife etc is a good plan. That is how they do it at the factory...

Gentle pressure upward may work along some fine blades to cut the glue. Whoever, a strong pull up may delaminate your deck if the plywood is not in the best shape. You risk more delaminate the top layer of fiberglass than break the glue bond. It happened to me when trying to remove one of the seats that was held with silicone.

When fitting back nothing is wrong with the screws in different locations even if the deck has gone. Pre drill 1mm smaller, counter sink and screw with a layer of sikaflex. Will hold very well. Just don’t forget to counter sink the old screw holes and fill with thickened epoxy to avoid water ingress.

Does anyone have a pic of a hurricane 590 with the deck plate off so I can see what the edge looks like?
