Repowering 4m Avon

Hi, I'm looking for a 2006 onwards 30hp outboard. Must be electric start, remote, and power tilt and trim. Ideally short shaft to swap over like for like, but would consider long shaft. Current engine is an early 90's mariner 40hp. Powers boat along well. Only trouble is girlfriend can't get it started. I'm based in Newcastle u Tyne, but willing to travel for the right engine/price. Drop me a line if anyone has anything of interest.

Doubt you'll find a std shaft with PTT.

What model 4m Avon is it?

RIBase
Is your Mariner 40hp a twin cylinder? It'll be far easier to get a 40hp with PTT and electric start.

The 3 cylinder 40hp Yamahas are also a LOT easier to hand start if you really need to.

Hi, yes it's a two cylinder version. If I opt fit a long leg I may have to build the transom back up.
