Hi all, the rib needs some tlc on the deck, console grp arch..by this I mean the paint has faded a good bit in patches..it's black...any ideas for products to use and methods?! Not sure if there's another thread here on the subject?! Cheers for any advice!
Have you tried anything? On smooth surfaces some T-Cut style polishing compound may work but the problem is presumably UV damage and will recur and if you polish enough you will have no gel coat.
Is the floor non-slip? Can't see a way to polish is... ...Flow coating would be my only thought...
Black grp is a pain to keep right we have a hard hull cruiser & it has black hull sides & needs a light machine polish with faecala g3 pre season then regular waxing with a good marine wax through the season it's just a matter of hard work & regular maintenance
A machine buff once a year will take a very long time to wear out the gelcoat as it's way thicker than paint
As said above none slip areas will be a different matter.
We also have a dark coloured but not black dash top which is like a leather grain finish . we found that a real pain to stop looking white in the grain after any kind of compounding or wax. Eventually found a rub over with wd40 got rid of the white & once rubbed off with a cloth wasn't realy slippy.
