Revenger 29 or other brand?

Is Revenger 29 good?

How fast is a 29´with your engine? Is a 150 to small? Or should I go to the bank and buy a Yamaha 300 or 2? What do you recomend?

Thanks

Hi!
I do not know to whom you are adressing this post, but I might help you a little bit.
We are a searaftingcompany, www.fjordrafting.no, and we (ab)use our boats. We do own a 29 Revenger and it is extremely good. It handles the waves better than our 36 feet ribs. It is a dream to drive, it is very though built. My friend has a searaftingcompany called havrafting.no, and they have had their 29 Revenger for 3 years. This boat has never seen calm weather and nothing has broke. It is fast and it is steady. Last year we had an other 29 feet long rib and that could not handle the same high speed turns as our 29 with stepped hull. We will not tell you about the extreme turns we do beacause you will not belive it. But doing the same with our past boat flipped passengers over board. In the Revenger, we can do this turn all day.
We have already decided to order one more Revenger!
And about the engine, you will have to look very hard to find a faster hull. The Marc Pascoe-hull might be faster, but at a price three times the prise of a Revenger-hull. We know because we got quotes on both theese boats four months ago. A 300hp would give you around 52-55knots, depending what you want. (how high you put the engine, what propeller, what engine etc.)
Good luck!

Sorry, a little bit too fast typing, I ment 50% higher price, and that includes the light weight hull.

An Icelander bought rib from I think Arctic Blue or something like that at least a Norwegian company but made in Poland powered by 320 hp Mercruiser diesel which he registered with us for warranty but as I understand it is still hold in Customs, do you recognise this manufacturer Fjordrafting ?

Yes, defenately! The owner is Lars Narverud, a person I talked to on the phone two days ago regarding the 34 Revenger with 2x500 EPI, which he had back in 2001. Needed background-info about the "34".
He tried to make a speed record from Norway to Iceland, but failed due to the fact that some of the XR-drives have a small problem with the gear on the top of the drive, it broke! But the boat was more than fine and could handle 78knots!!! It is now running in Narwik as a searaftingboat.

But I asume that there is something you want to know about him or his company, come on and let us know!
