Rib 4 Macmillan

Not inc today 58,436 people have visited the Southampton Boat Show, these figures are up on last year!

Most of these people walk past our stand either on the way in or way out!

The weather has been fantastic but there has been some rain today!

We have three people on the stand today, Mr & Mrs lowflyer & also James from Henshaw's who I believe is the tube designer!

Hats off to them!!!Click image for larger version

Yes, Chris, Caroline and James were 'plugging' well today. Leaflets were being handed to anyone who showed the slightest interest; so why wasn't I given one
Might it have been due to the close proximity of free rum??

Fraid I'm reaching the bottom of my pocket now. At least it's already at a really good level.

However, on the up side my 3 monthly check up was all clear.

Just met these two awesome guys who are in the Met. They have started a charity called Teen Marine UK. They have one of the ribs seized from Gibraltar! And are rebuilding it for their charity.

They have been following our thread from day one and love the project!

Afternoon guys, we had a visit during the week from Alasdair Reay from a company called hpi/vs, we finished up having a good talk about, CE markings, we all know about these on everything new that is sold here in Britain and boat especially have more vigorous tests than most stuff, anyway he pointed out something that had never entered my mind about our very own macrib, it didn't have a CE plate as military boats are exempt, me in my usual fashion was thinking of telling him to feck off but he had a valid point, how many of these are out there or for that matter have I sold, anyway, I'm glad I put my mouth in neutral and my brain in gear and let him carry on and he turned out to be a nice guy, we entered into an agreement and both got something out of it, we will give him a shout and we get all the certificates we needed and yet another plate for our boat, if anyone's interested in the implications of having no plates on one of these then give me a shout and, although a little long winded, explain the ins and outs and give you the contact details

Our MacRIB is now all CE approved and carries all the correct markings, which is another great achievement for the project!

Special thanks to Alasdair Reay for donating this to our project

That's a nice one! Maybe worth updating the ebay add(if its not there already), as the CE marking on boats is becoming a bigger issue as time goes by.
