I agree the focus should be getting the boat built - which I know will be done damn well.
Also thanks, Whisper, for giving clarity on how pledged monies will be used - it is after all your project and clear direction is always good.
I do think that those who pledged to loan money against a new engine should not feel their gesture is not appreciated, or feel pressured into turning the loan into a donation - the idea / take up showed a lot of Ribnet spirit.

Ok, so what's happening on Sat 26th and Sun 27th Oct.....
I'll arrive at Biffer's at around 10am
We'll get the rib in the workshop and have a good look at what we need to do.
We need to remove the console so that it can be stripped and Low Flyer will collect the upholstery so that it can be recovered.
The A frame and brackets need to come off to be taken to Nugent for it's restoration and painting.
The straps need to be removed and the deck needs to be cleaned and inspected.
The whole rib will be hoisted off the trailer, turned over so that the underneath clan be cleaned, repaired and polished.
We'll leave the rib at biffer's so that he can work on a repair/upgrade to the transom supports.
By this time we will know what is the best way to get the nonslip part of the deck sorted as the original is nonslip paint and it would be good to upgrade it to nonslip gelcoat
In a few weeks time and once the hull and deck are complete it will be time for the rib to go to http://www.henshaw.co.uk/ for Christopher to do his thing with his team
We'll keep hold of the console while she's having her tubes pampered and get that perfect too
If you would like to join in, help or learn then please do PM me for Biffer's address

I should be able to pick the bits up when ready,my lads are working all over the country,, unless some oneis heading to the midlands,
Re the non slip I normally hire a sand blaster to remove the old stuff, not sure if mr grumpy has a yard out side for this , it's quite messy, but takes like half an hr to do, grinder is. Days work and hard graft
,
What is the plan with the hull? Are you painting it or not? I know it's not back to original gel finish, but that acrythane looks exactly like an original finish , just as hard wearing also,

I can get it back to Swindon or leave it at Biffers? I may be up your way in a week or two?
The plan with the hull is to match the gelcoat and complete the repairs without painting it

Alex, how are you going to handle the sale proceeds?
Just thinking, would it make sense for the donation to go through just giving, so Macmillan also get the tax portion?

What can you cut in alloy, I have a cunning plan for house name or number, I have a swinging wall bracket at the moment with a horse and donkey cut out of metal but its showing signs of rust, just a thought, if its too much agro just say no
