Hi Alex, i am not posting this for my benefit but for anyone who has made a small payment into the Biffer account, and in the interests of fairness and transparency.
Just as a reminder, the while £40 thing started life as loaning the money on the assumption you would get it back. Some (maybe all, Biff seems to think so) people decided heirs was a donation.
Clearly donations are non refundable. But if anyone made their payment as a loan ( should have stated loan on the transfer as instructed) they should be given it back and should expect to get it back.

I wouldn't worry too much Neil, all the money that we have had donated has come from about eight people most we know reasonable well and they are well aware of how the money's is being used and that they aren't getting it back

Yeah I can't say it any other way, this is a live thread and any member can post and change its direction quite quickly, however the idea of small loans were cleared up some time ago and it was finalised that any money paid into the account was a donation, if you thought otherwise then we will quite gladly send you your money back without any mention of it on the forum or to anyone at any time, just let me or Biff know
I don't want to say too much about what we have bought until we have paid for it and have it back at Biff's, however to bridge the gap Neil Harvey has been very good in paying for what we have bought and then towing it to Biff's on Sunday. Our bank account is there to enable us to pay Neil back.
As far as I'm aware this has never been done before and everyday we are making the best of what we have to produce the rib that everyone would love to build, and I have to say that we are all getting quite attached to her.
Don't forget, we started with nothing and now we very nearly have it all.
Well done you lot
A quick pic of how this all began

Fair enough, did not think not would be so few people! And probably worked in companies trying to ensure transparency etc too long :-)
May have missed the clearing up bit Alex, this thread loves so quickly! No changing direction intended.

Back on topic... Just back from abroad, money collected and off home to get car ready for an early start tomorrow. All going to plan so far -)
This is all coming together nicely :-) and for such a great cause. My mum used to work for Macmillan herself, and I really know how much the support people get from them helps, so happy to help with this in any way I can.

As you some of you may know I walked out of work to look after my father at his home with hardly any help at all, sadly he died 4 weeks later as I held his hand at his home near Wootton Bassett. Over those 4 weeks I had two nights covered by a volunteer nurse, I had so many questions and no one to answer them. My dad kept saying he had something to tell me but it wasn't quite the time but sadly he was gone before he ever did.
Macmillan Cancer Support is so important not just for the patients but for the families that support them too. Macmillan's slogan is that no one should face Cancer alone and I only wish that I knew about them then.
The service that Macmillan supply is not covered by the NHS, it is a charity that bridges that massive gap and I guess if you watch this video it explains it quite well.....
Anyway, I am so looking forward to tomorrow and I can't wait to get some more time in on the boat with you lot

Just thinking ahead, if you're doing the a frame black, what do you think about the rest of the stainless, there is only a couple of back rests and a handle.
