I don't know if guilt is the right word, in this day and age charities are pulling at your heart strings every opportunity they can get, at the door, TV, shopping centres, events, etc, at least our wants are centred around something very specific to this forum, in this case I think it would have been better just to have kept quite, if you or the RIBnet team doesn't want to donate then don't, most people have charities that they support, Macmillan wasn't one of mine.

My comment was very much off the cuff but point taken and seen as you've took the bait.... It just seems to me that Rib.net are getting excellent coverage from this, both in terms of the free publicity via every outlet that the "sponsors/supporters" have tweeted, posted, emailed, spoken and in the 2,000 PBRM feature that is to be done. Most sponsors have either choose to donate on the basis of either goodwill or in return for the brand being included. Rib.net are getting massive exposure for free. It'd be nice to see them contribute. That's all.

Obviously I accept its not obligatory in any way and also take note that the forum is providing a platform to make the project happen. Let's not move this thread off topic though, move it to somewhere else if you can please, sponsors are reading

From the Institute of Fundrasing Code of Practice - the key is "Ought Not" to pressurise.... but use reasonable persuasion

I'm with Biffer too, don't get me wrong, if you want to contribute that's great, but if you don't want to contribute that's also great by me, but a the RNLI don't seem to mind pushing for contributions, and we all know what a deserving cause they are, then why should we worry about pushing such a worthwhile cause as this, as long as it's all done in the best possible taste of course

Morning! Been down here since 09:30 and sampled the Biffer's Tetley!

Neil's here with the donor rib and we've done the engine compressions which are all exactly the same and just over 120

Very happy with the donor rib and glad we found the good people at the dive club!

Please don't feel pressured into donating however if you want some parts I'll start listing them tonight inc 2 x fixed DSC VHF Radios

There was a section at the back that was still sticky. If it doesn't go off with a bit of heat I'll just redo it in the week
