Biff, I've got 4 of the Nato style Barrus tanks to 'clean up' myself and I assume they're in a similar condition to the Macrib ones so any tips on what you use to clean/restore them would be much appreciated.
I understand that the internal gubbins is prone to disintegrate (haven't investigated mine yet) and the external fittings look a bit 'barnacled' so any hints/tips with regard to this aspect would be particularly well received.
Cheers

Morning, these tanks are pretty well made, the pickup pipe on the other hand ain't, I've had a quick look and the exterior fitting will unbolt. The pickup seems to degraded in petrol so that's what I started with in the tank, seems logical that if it melted it the first time it should loosen it up a second time, I'm going to get at it with the steamer when I have a minute

I've spoken to biff & I'll be down on 13th to wire it all up. Biff has sent battery dimensions so that'll come up with me & I'll make up a new set of 35mm tinned battery cables to the engine too.

It's all up in the air at the moment. There was talk of a pig roast during the day. If it's in march I'm away in Australia for part of it.
I was have way through this post and whisper rang. So I've stuck the monkey on his shoulder

An update from me...
Meeting with Macmillan on Monday
We are going to take this weekend off for good behaviour as it's Mrs W's birthday
With the end in sight I have started making enquiries regarding the launch and hopefully we can get the press there too Have had lots of great ideas
With regards to dates, I won't do the party unless Biffer is there as he has played such an important part in all of this
I'll keep you posted

RIK, brought down an anchor, it's in your cupboard, however I did have an offer of an anchor Chain and rope but I haven't heard anything for a while.
Chased it up today though
Having said that if you have had an offer in keeping with the boat don't turn it down
