The thread is so huge it is quite difficult to go back and follow the photo progress. Is there anyway we can have a sequential photo progress to look at in one place?

At a charity auction with a good crowd and a good auctioneer the boat would easily achieve 10 - 15 K. As an example ABSAR in Antigua (local RNLI) holds a charity event once a year with various superyachts in attendance. At the last event they raised $40,000.

Whilst I am in absolute awe at the dedication, sheer hard work, foresight and effort that Alex and others have put into this project, I am of the opinion that in order to maximise the funds that we would all like to see generated, a professional input at this stage must be the way to go.

Personally, I would complete the Rib and then take it to as many high profile events this summer (assuming we get one) as possible - Cowes Week, Henley Regatta, Dartmouth Regatta, etc, etc. This will generate publicity for the project, for Macmillan and for Ribnet, and it will also get it seen by some of those deep-pocketed chaps and chapesses (either at the events or in the publicity that follows). Before doing so, speak to the PSP Southampton Boat Show organisers and arrange for them to donate a stand to display it at the show, and then let it be known that it will be auctioned at the show. If possible, get it displayed close to the Sunseeker stand, or approach one of the engine manufacturers and tell them if they donate a motor for it then they can display it on their stand.

HNW (High Net Worth) punters who splash 2, 3 or even 5 million on their new gin palace will think nothing of dropping and extra £50k when it's going to a great cause - particularly if they get their name/face in a few news reports showing how generous they are. They may even donate it to an inshore rescue service or charity sailing club afterwards (let's face it, it's never going to sit on the deck of their pristine white super-yacht!).

Use the hog-roast / party to kick-start the publicity, and for all those who've contributed to celebrate their work.

Ribnet probably can't do a raffle but macmillan can. 1000 tickets, £20 each. To sell via Ribnet initially, then what's left at say bulieau boat jumble-, lots of footfall with cash in pocket , ticket sellers/stall macmillan branded?
Macmillan to do the raffle.
Winner must collect from soton, or can sell via Ribnet for what ever price they want 10-12k?? So may be a second bite at the cherry.
At least you will achieve 20k, minus some costs?

Unfortunately Macmillan can't do what you are suggesting, they are very excited about what we are doing and they have said that our story of us all working together to produce something out of nothing with 100% of the proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support is unique. I am hoping that they will do a story on us to explain to others how we did it and give others inspiration for their fundraising.

Yes a syndicate is a good idea to be able to buy the rib, I can't get involved in that because I'm selling the rib.

This is quite a busy build thread so I would prefer to keep this thread about the project

Nugent's the dude with a spray gun!

Biffer managed to save the tank with the melted pickup pipe, these tanks travelled all the way from Germany to Hull and all the way around England before they made it to the boat.

Biffer makes the frame for the Pelli case that was donated by Trailer Guy

Ian M cleans the inside of the console, this is tough work but Ian cracks on.

Crew 2 works on the Pelli Case removing some sticky pad from the bottom, the case is then bolted to the trailer.
