that was the idea, which is why i have a cover support frame fitted as well,
goes around the bow, over the screen to a support plate, and then down to the transom eyes, and with the cover going tight under the tubes,and tensioned with a ratchet strap, then hopefully that should do the job,

keep the pics comming Andy when you get yours, I have just fitted a lockable
glove box today, after seeing your console layout, good idea, for the camera
and the like.

Not sure that I inderstand about the support frame, any chance of a pic or two?

When i say frame , i mean, webing straps that go around the bow, over the
console and to a support pole with large top plate, from there the straps
go each side down to the transom eyes, it does stop the cover from saging
and there is certainly no build up of rain any where, if you notice on the
shakespear cover that didnt have one fitted, and sags at the bow, i can allso work on the inside of the boat quite easily without getting wet, will post a pic
shortly.

For mine I'm working a very similar arrangement that I had for my old boat. This is a marine ply box that goes on top of the 'A' frame to cover over the various antennas and anchor light, which has a cut out for it for a wooden beam that runs forward to the screen frame. This will give a solid ridge pole effect for the cover, giving me plenty of space to work underneath and not allowing any rain water puddling. I was interested in your ideas as I had thought about straps to replace the wooden beam so that my head does not come into sharp contact with a solid object quite so often

How about buying a 1" diameter length of stainless tube, a scolloped in one end could fit over the screen rail and the other end made to fit the A frame. Would be light and wouldn't rust.

i suppose the only down side to wood is the friction between pole and cover,
the webbing does keep the cover nice and taught but still allowing the cover to flex, will try and post pic tommorrow, Got the pole and straps off Ebay.

For some people a simple rope from the A frame to the windscreen frame and another to the bow would probably work very well.

Wow, that is some arrangement!
Thinking about straps, one bow to screen surround, one screen surround to 'A' frame. Codprawn, the problem with ropes as I see it is maintaining any sort of tension. Whilst this may not affect the cover in its primary role, ie keeping the elements and UV off the boat, when the wind gets up and the cover is sagging, that can lead to increased flapping of the cover and a reduction of its useful life.
