I am planning to do some boating while on holiday in Sydney but Edward who is a member of this Forum thought that in NSW they would not recognise UK Qualifications ie; Powerboat level 2 or the International Certificate for Operator of Pleasure Craft. I have emailed the Maritime agency in New South Wales Australia and this is their response:
Dear Graham,
Temporary recognition of overseas licence exists and a NSW licence in not required.
Note you are required to comply with NSW boating laws while boating in this State. That includes carrying your licence when boating.
The NSW Boating Handbook can be obtained at any NSW Maritime Authority, by mail, or from our website
www.maritime.nsw.gov.au
For further information please contact Ms Beverley Bragg (Marine Certification Officer). Beverley can be contacted on 02 95638773, or by email at
