Rib Cruising Ireland

Anyone interested in doing any rib cruising around the south coast of Ireland. I run my 7m rib out of Kinsale in Co.Cork and would like to get as many rib owners together as possible for weekend cruising. So far we only have 3 or 4 ribs that go along on these trips but it would be great to get the numbers up especially with summer coming!

RIBase
I am up for this !!
I take delivery of my new boat around the end of May and plan my first "distance" trip to Kinsale, perhaps mooring at the Trident Hotel? Love to explore around The Old Head etc.
I'll be coming over from Plymouth so obviously Foot-and-Mouth and the weather are important considerations but lets talk via e-mail and fix up something.
Alan?? Are you up for this?

How did you come up with the name TSUNAMI?

This is the name of my boat!

I first leant about this name at school, do you have any further info relating to it?

I believe it's the Japanese name for some kind of tidal wave

Regards

Jahno

Brian,

Very possibly, although end of May would clash with your West Country cruise wouldn't it? Certainly up for some serious cruising in your new boat.

Jahno,
took me a long time to decide on a name for my boat. Myself and a mate actually built our boats ourselves, it took 14 months to build 2 off them so I had plenty of time to think about it.
Tsunami is Japanese for 'Harbour Wave' but is better known as a huge tidal wave which normally causes complete destruction!
There are quite a few web sites on the topic giving just about every piece of information possible. Can't remember the web addresses but they are easily found on the search engines.

Hi Joe ,

Check out the recent postings on the Irish Powerboat Association and give me a call .

Before the foot and mouth threat came along we had plans for a RIB event in May in Kinsale ( My home town ) .

Give me a ring if you like .

Best wishes ,

Stuart
