Nadia

How do you qualify to be a RIB Groupie?

I am blonde, female and have a big RIB - do I fit the criteria?

Sian,
Welcome fellow Groupie.(glad you have come on board, I was feeling a bit outnumbered)

You got one up on me - you got a RIb - great. - How many trips have you done in the new boat?(I hope I am right in guessing you are G.'s other half? - would be too much of a coincidence)

I certinaly would hate to say there is a criteria anyway, just being interested in RIb / ribsters is enough.

See you in Cardiff soon!

Nadia,

Only been out in the new RIB Topaz twice - once for her test run on the Broads and again yesterday for her maiden voyage around the Solent. If you look at Graemes thread you can read all about the fun we had (along with the minor set back regarding my handbag!).

Been on loads of trips in our other RIB Shiraz (a full bodied and slightly spicy red RIB).

Doing my Powerboat 2 course the weekend after the SOC send off. One week end Cardiff Bay, the next who knows...........

Right again...

Nadia, are you not getting bored with being right all the time?

I agree on your plan to come to cardiff before painting the house, but my girlfriend doesn't...I guess it is painfully clear where that leaves me!

Sian, welcome to the forum! About the handbag...the mobiles are ringing of the hook, please give your new number to your fans.

Look on the bright side, now you can shop for a new handbag! May I suggest a watertight model?

Eddy

Eddy,

Thanks for the advice about choosing a new handbag! I'm also thinking of having the optional extra of it being attached to a large Doberman!

Shame about that- does spoil things a bit huh.
I personally don't have a handbag - my preference - just keep my £5.- in my back pocket.
(when that runs out, I go home, or smile more!!!)
Just joking!

I lived in Derby for a while - and I agree with your comments 100% !!!

Nadia - looks like you wont be staying long at the Parties over the SOC weekend - I understood that as host you were in the chair for the whole weekend !!!

She's back and she's bad.....what's been happenin'? Miss me?

Read all your comments.... was not intending to be in a chair at the SOC send - off. I like socialising and mingling, not sitting down!!! - Plus, I can drink more when I stand up!!!

I have been out on / in the water most of my life - not on RIB's so much - that is a fairly new thing for me.

Any other watersports - yup.

Sounds like I have to justify myself here.

Just so you know, I do have a MCA Boatmasters license - huh!
(commercial passenger boats) and I am the only and first female boatmaster in Cardiff!!!

I have been on the sidelines a bit, but its full throttle ahead again now, so look out.

Sounds really odd writing the above - like an interview!

I w true groupie today and went to the Cardiff Boat jumble.
I did not buy a boat or even a fender, but had a closer look at a
ZAPCAT. (a co in Cardiff are agents and had the first delivery of one on Friday)
Brand spanking new bright yellow ZAPCAT.

It will be out for the SOC send off and will be joined by another three - or so is the plan at the moment.

Whooosh!!

From what I understand talking to Zapcat owners they are always looking for excuses to race - outside of their own series that is. Any chance of putting on a race - bit of an impromptu one - I'll provide a Cup of some sorts if it comes off. We could even include the Gemini Cats - which don't have their own series - but have the same engine and similar set up I believe?

This could be a great attraction for Saturday afternoon or Sunday Morning - and I am sure someone with your local clout could pull this off even at this short notice.

G,
Good idea, but we don't want to deviate from the impportance of the week-end too much.
Will have a chat with the guy / agent today and see what he thinks.

(possibly a demo race, cup not required and get them to come to the pub etc. all depennds on when they would be coming down.
will keep you posted.)
