RIB Groupies
Thought this topic deserved its own thread.
Open to any interested parties that wish to express their enthusiasm in RIB's or RIB owners!
Seriously, not all of us have their own boats yet....but are keen to be a part of this great adventure / hobby and any expeditions that involve these seriously fun boats.
Any forthcoming events, exhibitions, need for crew or / and land support please post here.
Let's see what happens now.

Nadia,
I'm all for groupies, but before I get toooo excited I need to know do you really exist or are you merely a figment of Alan P's infertile imagination ?
You see, I couldn't help noticing that your name is an anagram of "Hand me in Alan", or something even worse if you rearrange the letters in "Alan".
We need to know

Ohh, you shall see at the send off in Cardiff.....but I am pretty real!
So, is there like a calender of events for the RIB groupies to follow?
The only one I have marked in my calender for this year is the Spirit-of-Cardiff - although that takes up quite a bit of the calender.
Available for any events after May!

Do you not know of any girls that are interested in RIBs?
Can't really rate myself can I?
Can we go back to the calender of events?

Send me some more info.
Is it a one day event? Times? Place I got to be?
Will see what I can do.
Thanks for the info and the invite.

Was that last comment in my favour or against?
Alan P - you know us groupies worship the ground you guys walk on - well, you have your undivided interest anyway.
So...who is making the trip to Cardiff?
(how many sleeping bags do I have to collect at my house?)

Hi Nadia,
Am probably coming down. But don't worry about sleeping bag as I am trying to sort a freebie at Holiday Inn!!
May bring my boat, depends if trailer is up to it! Otherwise I'll be scrounging a lift to see the big departure!
Cheers,
Andy.

Hi,
Read the website - can sympathise - Cardiff Bay has no speed restrictions as present, but they are looking at zoning it and introducing certain speed restrictions in certain areas. The Rivers are both 5mph which I guess is ok enough but not always great either - especially when there is a big river flow on and people are always ready to complain!
What sort of dates are you looking at for the protest?

Windamere
Jahno,
There was an organisation organising protests against and otherwise generally fighting the imposition of the 10mph speedlimit on Windamere. Their website seems not to have been updated recently though.
Check out http://www.noslow.org.uk/
Only been to Windamere once in (whisper it) a Fletcher but had a good weekend. Seems a shame that the National Park authority wants to spoil everyones fun and wreck a significant portion of the local economy!
Cheers,
Alan

Hey, this thread is for social groupies!(both male and female) - I agree no violence protests against such issues as in the case of Windermere are important - but...could you perhaps start a thread on Protests / RIb taking action on water?
Ta.

Hey, just because I had a little moan about subject-deviation, you lot have become very quiet on this thread...what happened? Lost interest already? Don't you know of any groupies? We can be very supportive in your hobby and very helpful - just ask
Alan P.
Not everyone has their own boat, yet.
although I could say I own 2 boats - through work - but they are not RIBs.
Let's hear it for the groupies!
