Rib Identification

Long time listener first time caller.

I recently bought myself a Humber. It's possibly the greatest boat ever and I'd marry it if I could get rid of the wife.

I was wondering if any if you folks can identify the model? I cannot locate the Identification plate on the transom area and there's a possibility it's clamped behind the outboard.

I can measure it's length but slightly confused where to measure from and to?

Cheers for any assistance!

Post a picture and someone will tell you. To get the best / most accurate answer with the least debate I suggest the following views:

1. A picture taken side on from relatively low down (its more important to see the spray rails / chines than the tops of the tubes.

2. A picture taken from the front - ideally showing the side of the bow/stem and the shape of the tubes at the front.

3. A picture of the rear showing the transom (and the "shape of any V" at the back) but taken low enough down to see if there is a flat "pad" at the back of the hull.

4. Measure from the very front of the tubes to the transom (that is how RIB hulls are usually marketed).

5. Measure the overall with (outside of tube to outside of tube). Humber hulls have width and length variants.

6. A photo of the console / deck layout might help rule things in / out.

Rib Identification

Never. Nowt wrong in a Humber. I divorced a SR for one and been happily married.

It may be a Destroyer, it's not an Ocean Pro as it doesn't have enough spray rails on the hull. It has a high sheer bow so I'd guess Destroyer rather than Attaque or Assault.

Looks like 5.5m 5.8m or 6m

Thanks for the replies chaps. She's a fine boat who will hopefully be pretty forgiving on me and last a long time. By the time I made it home it was a tad dark to get the ruler out. I think she may very well be the destroyer model. Just hoping to get confirmation with your collective expertise.

I think you were spot on with the Destroyer guess. Checked humbers website and measured the internal width between sponsons. 1 metre twenty two or something. Not easy measuring length but I'd guess 5.8m. Thanks for all your input guys!
